The international workshop on HIV and women has now completed its 7th year and continues to evolve.  It is an outstanding opportunity for health care providers, researchers, government, industry and community to discuss, debate, and further their knowledge on the issues related to HIV and women.

The format of the meeting enables attendees to learn from experts in the field of HIV and related health, and then to dialogue on the issues, the gaps and the opportunities for further learning and research.  Many of the attendees come each year and have formed valuable relationships and partnerships which has led to collaborative projects.

The enthusiasm and dedication of the participants is palpable throughout the meeting. The debates and round tables are an important vehicle to discuss the issues and challenge dogma. Over the years, the number of submitted abstracts and the quality has continued to improve. The meeting also provides a forum for new investigators to present their work, and to meet personally with experts they view as mentors and inspiration for their work. The meeting considers both local and global issues, and information learned in one setting is often translated to another. Our timing now enables participants to combine this meeting with CROI.

    Convegno Nazionale Impact

HIV & Hepatitis in the Americas 2018

On behalf of the Core and Scientific Committees, we would like to introduce you to the HIV & Hepatitis in the Americas Congress. We are delighted to bring you the sixth Congress which has a unique regional focus, and evolved in 2013 from the HIV Glasgow Congress. The 2018 congress will be held in Mexico City, Mexico over 19-21 April 2018.

Our key aim in establishing this Congress was to bring together practising physicians and other healthcare professionals who treat patients on a day-to-day basis with a view to improving clinical practice and the lives of patients.

We have invited investigators from all the Latin American region to the Congress, in order to share ideas and results, and to promote research dissemination and create networking opportunities.

The Congress Scientific Programme has been developed to provide state-of-the-art information on HIV and hepatitis, as well as the opportunity to discuss regional issues and challenges in the treatment of patients, focussing on public health, and clinical and basic science agendas.

We are delighted to be working in collaboration with the International AIDS Society (IAS) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), as we as the International Antiviral Society-USA (IAS-USA) and the Latin American Workshop Group. The involvement and activities of these groups during the Congress are detailed within the Scientific Programme.

The Scientific Programme offers a selection of plenary sessions, round table discussions and interactive case study-based sessions.

Time for discussion within sessions, which has increasingly become of value to delegates as the Congress has evolved, has been allocated to ensure that the key issues in the region are aired and addressed.

The inclusion of the hepatitis agenda within this 3-day programme was considered an important development in 2015, and continues to be a part of the Scientific Programme.

Important features of the Congress are the Scientific Posters and the Exhibition Area, which provide excellent opportunities to meet with colleagues, and to informally discuss data and generally embrace the nature of this Congress.

With the intention of continuing to develop the enthusiasm and momentum already gained, we encourage you to take an active part in the Congress and make the most of discussions, networking and other opportunities that present themselves.

Check the event website for more details.

We are proud to announce the 14th edition of the International Workshop on Co-infection: HIV, Hepatitis and Liver Disease, to be held on 16 - 18 May 2018 in Seville, Spain.

With the success of antiretroviral therapy, HIV infected patients are seeing improvement in longevity, only to be challenged with the dangers and complications of additional viral infections. Depending on the country – this is either a majority, or a significant minority of the HIV patients under care. Although HIV & Hepatitis co-infection is a small part of several major HIV conferences, the field lacks a dedicated meeting on this topic. Over the years more and more educational components were added given the growing needs of clinicians to keep up with the rapid developments.

The HIV & Hepatitis  coinfection workshop has become the most prestigious co-infection meeting in the field and is the leading medical gathering for those involved in the clinical care of co-infected individuals. The program provides an excellent platform to exchange the medical information and new treatment results, and to discuss them with the experts active in the different disciplines (including Virology, Hepatology, Immunology, Infectious Disease and Primary Care).

The 2018-edition will continue to focus on developments in basic science, emerging therapies and clinical management. It will emphasize translational research and best practices in the clinical management of Hepatitis and HIV co-infection, and for the first time, include talks and topics on liver disease.

We look forward to seeing you in Seville!
